Meeting Minutes 5-19-04

In attendance: George Dondanville, LeRoy Huenefeld, Craig Harrington, Jennifer Auray, Becky Michaels, Ed Specie, Mary Tidings, John Zack, Andy Robinson, Ron Avola, Tim Lyster.

Ongoing Programs:

Upcoming Races:

• George reports on the upcoming races – June Triathlon need volunteers; June 14th Marco Race ; July 4th race is being handled by Perry Silverman; Labor day race – need volunteers; September 19th is the 20k race – need volunteers

Race Review:

• Tropicool Race made about $1458.00 . George mentioned about ½ Marathon Sponsorships for 2005. He is starting to approach last years sponsors.

Treasurers Report:

• Craig reported there is $9707 in checking and $11,820 in the Youth Development fund. 501c form is on hold. Scholarships have been awarded to students and have already received a thank you note from one of the students.
• Request from Coach Joe Manento for the GCR’s to donate $100 to Ken Minke for Nike cross country camp, motion was made and all in favor of donating $100.

Newsletter:

• Jennifer reported the next deadline is July 1st for the August letter. She encouraged members to submit articles.

Mentoring:

• Andy has no new report.

Social Activities:

• Ron Bailey was not present to report. Mention of Memorial day picnic.

Web Site:

• Mary Tidings reported that Active.com has been set-up. Terry Stickel (who lives on Marco) is volunteering to update website. Website will still be hosted on server in California (ITM Computing to host site)

Old Business

• After consulting with Steven Spar, self sustaining fund is on hold. Too much risk. Talks about taking some money into a CD. Motion was made and all in favor of moving some into a CD.

New Business

• Copywright has been completed by Koop Johnson. Koop Johnson submitted his resignation. Looking for New President and Vice President for 2005.

Outstanding Projects

• Advertising in newsletter will be handled by Ron Avola.. John Zack and Craig Harrington will assist Ron.
• Becky to handle ordering flowers for members of the club that have a Birth, Death or Injury. You can e-mail her an updates to BecRuns@cs.com.
• Meetings are moved to Wednesdays. The next meeting will be on June 16th at the Fifth Third center of Vanderbilt Beach Road.
