Meeting Minutes 2-19-04

In attendance: George Dondanville, LeRoy Huenefeld, Craig Harrington, Jennifer Auray, Becky Michaels, Ed Specie, Tim Lister, Loretta Huenefeld.

Manatee High School - Kim Avola was present from Manatee High School and spoke on "Running For Uniforms". Manatee is looking to use the membership base to communicate "Running for Uniforms" program. George made a motion to allow the participate in five races to promote "running for uniforms". The motion was second and majority passed.

Striders Club to join GCR - Herb Solomon purposes for the Striders and GCR to join forces. The Striders membership would become part of GCR. It was suggested to invite the Striders to the Potluck on April 14th, 6:30pm at Perry's house. So the two groups could meet on a social level first. Board is in favor of merging two clubs, but thought it was best to start with social function first.

Race Review - Trail Run was a success netting $460.00 that will go toward Youth Development Fund. Naples Half Marathon had the same financial results as 2003. The 2005 Naples Half Marathon will be held on January 23rd.

Treasurer Report - Craig reported there is $8515.00 in the checking and $5157 in the Youth Development fund.

Newsletter - Jennifer reported that Becky Michaels and Ed Specie will handle the distribution of the newsletter. We thank Bill Murphy for all that he has done. April Newsletter deadline is March 1st.

Social Activities - Perry's Potluck on April 14th at 6:30 his house. Big Bothers event on April 17th. Contact Ron Bailey for more details.

Old Business - Changes in board… Jean Koop, Mitch Ericka Norgart have resigned. Motion was made by George to aske Matt Sonneborn and Ron Avola to join board. Motion was second, board in favor.

Meeting attendance was discussed and number of terms to serve on the board. To be discussed in detail at the next meeting.

Craig is looking into making a portion of the Youth Development Fund into a self sustaining fund. More to come
